Fresh Roast Plus 8
The Fresh Roast Plus 8 is designed to roast approximately 3 ounces of coffee beans at one time. 3 ounces of roasted beans will yield 12-16 cups of drip coffee. Roast times average about 6 minutes with a 2 minute "cool down" period. There is only one control on the Fresh Roast, that being the timer knob. It is a mechanical timer with stamped markings on the knob for roasting minutes and the "cool" cycle. The ROASTING CHAMBER is a clear glass tube and the new ones are marked with a "fill to here" line to make it easy.
Behmor 1600
The Behmor 1600 roasts 1/4, 1/2 or 1 pound of coffee. It has a choice of five profile programs. This roaster, as the instructions will tell you, is not for doing dark roasts. The maximum roast darkness is 10 seconds beyond the second crack, which would be approximately a lightly spotted roast, a little beyond Full City, or what you might describe as a ‘light Viennese’. If you wish to roast coffee darker than this you should look at other choices in home roasters. But, if your needs are in the realm of lighter roasts, which are best for coffee’s flavor nuances, the behmor is a real contender.

The other two are of course Steve Leighton and Dave Walsh who have been instrumental in everything I have done and achieved so far. Steve had put together our first seasonal blend” Frosty” that really is incredible. A combination of Sao Judas, La Illusion and Machacamarca give an indication of the quality of this espresso. Dave on the other hand gave up his day off yesterday to make his“ barista debut” and introduced Dublin to the concept of a brew- bar. So successful was it that I think we sold more filter...
